What is OrbitRemit?
Founded in 2008, OrbitRemit is a global foreign exchange service that offers international money transfers to 39 countries. Headquartered in New Zealand, the company provides transfer services to customers in New Zealand, Australia and the UK. Its mission is to provide fast and secure payments to friends and family overseas, but it also offers business transfers.
How to register an account
It’s free to sign up for an account with OrbitRemit by completing the following steps.
- Step 1: Go to the OrbitRemit website
- Click through to the orbitremit website and then click on the “Sign Up” link at the top right of the screen.
- Step 2: Enter your email address
- Enter your email address and create a password using the fields provided.
- Step 3: Enter your transfer details
- Enter the amount you want to send and select the currency you want to transfer. Click on “Make Transfer”.
- Step 4: Provide your personal details
- Select an individual or business account and then provide your name, phone number, occupation, date of birth and address.
- Step 5: Enter your recipient’s details
- Provide your beneficiary’s name and bank account details.
- Step 6: Provide proof of ID
- You’ll now need to verify your identity by uploading a valid form of photo ID.
- Step 7: Review your transfer
- At this point you can review all the details of your transfer, including the amount being sent, the exchange rate, the transfer fee and your recipient’s details.
- Step 8: Choose your payment method and complete your transfer
- The final step is to choose your payment method (bank transfer or POLi transfer) and submit your transaction.
Pros:

Cons:
- Limited payment methods. You can’t pay for your transaction using a credit card, debit card or cash.
- Cash pick-ups only available in Vietnam and the Philippines. If you’re sending funds anywhere other than these two destinations, cash pick-ups are not available.

Yes. You can do this by selecting “Or setup as a recurring transfer” when submitting a transfer request.

Does OrbitRemit have a maximum transfer limit?
This depends on where you are sending your transfer. Some destinations have a maximum transaction amount but others do not, so check with OrbitRemit for full details.
Can I cancel a transfer?
If your transfer status is “Awaiting Payment” or “Awaiting Update”, you can contact OrbitRemit to request the cancellation of your transfer and a refund. However, refunds are not available once a transfer has been completed.
